advisor8 powers the chat adviser you may have used on a business or community website. This page explains what we collect when you use that adviser, why, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

• Your messages — what you type into the chat, so the adviser can respond and improve.
• Contact details you choose to share — name, email, or phone, only if you enter them to request a follow-up or quote.
• Basic technical data — a session identifier, timestamps, and general usage, used to run the service and prevent abuse.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and guide you to the right option.
• To pass an enquiry to the business you contacted, when you ask us to.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the adviser.

Who sees it

Your enquiry is shared with the specific business whose adviser you used. We use trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, database, and AI processing) strictly to operate the service. We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Chat and enquiry records are retained only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then removed.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To do so, contact the business you engaged with, or email hello@advisor8.app.
